This Texas Native has been involved in the sport of Cheerleading since 1988. As a freshman at Paris Junior College, he noticed tryout information for the cheerleaders that offered scholarship money to cheer and since he could tumble, tried out and made it never having any cheerleading experience but through the older Veteran Cheerleaders learned to stunt and became an NCA instructor 2 years later. After PJC, he attended East Texas State University and cheered on the 2nd place NCA National Team. He served on the NCA Staff for 4 years and on his first one as a staff member was awarded one of the top 25 instructors in the county in 1994. Mr. Allen was an instructor for the Junior Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders a pop warner version for NCA. He has judged numerous cheerleading and dance competitions and tryouts including Trinity Valley Junior College and Florida Cheer and Dance Championships. He is currently the Director of the Palm Beach Mako Cheerleaders, a semi pro dance/cheer team for Palm Beach Makos Semi Pro Football Team. Proud to say that several of his cheerleaders have gone on the tryout for Professional teams and have made it.
Mr. Allen is also in the entertainment business primarily on stage in his first production at the Perot Theater in Texarkana, Texas as a Cronnie in Lil Abner. He studied Ballet, Tap and Jazz at the Judith Mcarthy School of Dance and captured the role of The Mouse King in the City Annual production of the Nutcracker. Receiving a theater scholarship as well to Paris Junior College choreographed the Music Man the first ever freshman to do so and cast in the school productions such as the Diary of Adam and Eve, Amadeus, The Life of Larry Benson and The King and I. Upon graduation cast and toured with productions of Big River, Rent, Cats and Chorus line and was a seasonal cast member at Six Flags Over Texas, Taz in Looney Tunes Christmas Show, Witch Doctor in Aranias Nightmare and the Reverend in the summers Wild Bills Wild West Show. He served 3 years on the Miss Texas Production staff which lead him to meet Ray Kennedy of Ray Kennedy Entertainment that cast cruise ship entertainers, and Mr. Allen was on the entertainment and cruise staff of the Palm Beach Princess Casino boat from 1998-2001. Upon leaving the vessel, Mr. Allen has done numerous extra work in South Florida and featured in the movie Love and Debate as a dancer, host of Downtowns Got Talent and Starz of the Future talent show at the South Florida Fair. This is his 7th year as a volunteer committee member of Sunfest and affiliated with the Miss America Organization as a prelim judge and on the Board of the Miss South Florida Fair Pageant. Works exclusively with the Lake Worth Playhouse theater outreach program and had been featured in 3 productions RENT (Benny) Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Choreographer) The Who’s Tommy (Hawker) and hopefully this summer Rock of Ages the musical.
